The Intergovernmental Conference (IGC-4) concluded with a draft of the instrument to bring marine areas beyond national jurisdiction under common global management and monitoring which encompasses the high seas, beyond the exclusive economic zones or national waters of countries. According to International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), these areas account for almost half of the Earth’s surface.

The experts are likely to look at technologies that can help in the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere that is responsible for the warming of the planet in the report to be released on 4th April.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) walked back a much-debated policy that would take a harder look at natural gas infrastructure projects. The U.S. energy regulators are also inviting further public comment and promising to enforce it only on projects proposed after a policy is finalized.
