Held between today until 12th of November, 2021, COP26 will witness some of the most important climate negotiations, ever to have taken place! The decisions taken during this conference will impact our lives and that our planet, forever.

On this occasion, we wanted to give you a quick 'COP' snapshot, as it all starts.

What does it mean? When is it? What has been its track record so far? Where does India stand on it?

And other questions, that you may have had.

We have curated and organized this into a three-piece blog series, for you.

We hope it will give you a better context around the climate negotiations, and greater confidence to participate in the dialogues around Climate Action within your own circles.

ONE. COP26.

Starting today (30th October) up to the 12th of November this year, COP26 is going to witness many important climate decision-making take place. This is the 26th time, world leaders are gathering to do so! It promises to be the biggest gathering ever seen. What is a COP? Who will attend it? What is the Goal that COP26 sets out to achieve?

TWO. A Brief History of Climate Negotiations.

Since the first COP, which was held in Berlin in 1995 - climate negotiations have come a long way! What were the some of the highs and lows over the years? Why does COP21 (Paris Agreement) stand out? And why COP26, this year is so important?

THREE. India & COP26.

India is among the top three greenhouse gas emitters in the world, along with Chine and US. What India agrees to do for the climate at COP26, will have a lot of weight on our planet’s global temperature curve. What is India’s stance going into the global climate negotiations ?
