Year 2022 Week 34 Anushthatri Sharma
Hi,

Hope you are well ?!

While journaling in preparation for this week's newsletter, we could not help but notice the noise around the new developments coming in from China, USA and India. To put things to perspective, note that China, USA and India are the largest emitters of carbon dioxide & other greenhouse gases - totally 53% of the global emission leading to climate change, each year.

Please feel free to write to us at : [email protected]. We love hearing from you; and receiving feedbacks.

Stay Safe,

Harish,

The lower house of the Parliament of India (Lok Sabha) passed Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill 2022. The bill focuses on energy transition, favouring renewable energy sources and green hydrogen. It adheres to the 5 points climate-action strategy presented by the Indian PM during CoP26 to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2021.

US Climate Bill’s Subsidy Bonanza Gives New Allure to Carbon Capture

New regime will offer a tax credit of $85 for every metric ton of carbon emissions captured from a smokestack and stored-up 70% from current levels. It could lead to a wave of investment in green technologies.
